Isere. The compulsory mask in Grenoble, Vienne, Bourgoin-Jallieu, Voiron and in major resorts

The prefect of Isère decided this Friday evening to strengthen the braking measures vis-à-vis the circulation of Covid-19.

Laurent Prévost evokes a “worrying development of the health situation in Isère” and notes “the influx in certain areas of town centers, particularly marked by the density of pedestrian flows”.

Also from this Friday, December 31 at 8 a.m., wearing a mask becomes compulsory outside in the city centers of Grenoble, Vienne, Bourgoin-Jallieu and Voiron. This requirement also applies to the Deux-Alpes, L’Alpe d’Huez, Chamrousse and Villard-de-Lans resorts.

Note that the obligation concerns anyone from the age of 11.

In addition, wearing a mask remains compulsory, throughout the Isère department, for people aged 11 and over outside:

– within a radius of 50 m around schools, at the arrival and departure times of pupils, train and bus stations, outdoor spaces of shopping centers, places of worship at the time of services and ceremonies;

– in any gathering, demonstration, meeting or activity organized on the public highway;

– in places of festivals and shows;

– in markets, flea markets and unpacking sales;

– in queues on public roads.

This obligation to wear a mask does not apply:

– people with disabilities who have a medical certificate justifying this exemption and who implement the health measures defined by decree No. 201-699 of June 1, 2021, as amended;

– two-wheelers, motorized vehicles, vehicle drivers and their passengers;

– to people practicing a sporting activity.
