Isarcard semester is suspended: All rules for the 49-euro ticket for students – Munich

The Germany ticket for 49 euros will be available on May 1st. Because it is cheaper than the previous Isarcard Semester, the Munich Transport Association (MVV) has decided on a special regulation. The student ID card with the MVV logo printed on it for the 2023 summer semester now entitles students to travel in the entire MVV tariff area at no additional cost and without time restrictions from the start of the new semester up to and including April 30th.

From May 1st, the usual restrictions on journeys with a student ID card will apply again: Monday to Friday from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day, weekends and public holidays all day.

The MVV recommends buying the Germany ticket in the future, the Isarcard semester will be suspended in the summer semester. Anyone who has already bought one for 224.70 euros can return it up to and including April 30th without a processing fee, the purchase price will be refunded (bring your student ID card and ID card with you). The return takes place in the customer centers of the transport companies where the Isarcard was purchased (MVG, DB or BRB).
