Boating on the Isar has been possible again without restrictions in the Munich district since Monday. The district office has lifted the warnings that had been in effect for the past few days after the storms. According to the authorities, the trees that fell into the Isar due to the storm between the Schäftlarn monastery and the raft slide at the Mühltal power plant near Straßlach-Dingharting have been completely removed.
This means that it is now safe to navigate the Isar again. However, the district office points out that water sports enthusiasts who want to navigate the Isar must observe the applicable boating regulations. For example, the river may only be navigated with canoes, inflatable boats and stand-up paddling boards that meet a specified DIN standard.
It is also not permitted to attach dinghies or tie vehicles together. In order to ensure the ability to drive, there is also an upper limit of a maximum of 0.5 per thousand alcohol in the blood. Children up to the age of eight and non-swimmers must wear CE-marked life jackets. Glass bottles and audio playback devices are prohibited.
