A pedestrian crossing that could soon disappear
The five long white stripes still intrigued two townspeople who conducted their investigation. They discovered that the widest crosswalk in the world was located in the busy Shibuya district of Tokyo and was 17 meters wide.
Using a tape measure, they therefore wanted to know if that of Lamballe held the distance. And surprise, the Breton pedestrian crossing is 20 centimeters longer than its Japanese counterpart. The two competitors therefore wrote in the Guinness Book which has not yet sent an expert on site to endorse the record, reports The Telegram.
We will have to act quickly because the Lamballe pedestrian crossing may not be long. Installed on an experimental basis, it could indeed be replaced in the long term by a raised platform with “shark teeth”.
