But with this defeat, Israel forfeited its participation in the European Championships in Germany in the summer. Despite all the solidarity with the country, this was a major concern in view of the upcoming major event: attacks by Islamists in the context of European Championship games with Israeli participation in Germany, which would ultimately have huge symbolic power for attackers against the background of the Gaza war .
