Despite the spectacular reputation of their author, the writings of the Marquis de Sade are not stimulating reading. “Then let your imagination run wild,” one of his novel’s heroines recommends to a companion, “so that she can gradually show you the most varied debaucheries; act them out in every detail; review them one after the other; imagine that the… “The whole world is yours, that you can transform, mutilate, destroy and flatten any creature you want.” Certainly, we are talking about sexualized violence here, and it apparently goes to the last extreme.
