Apple’s iPhones could be delivered without a Lightning connector as early as 2023. According to a recent report, the manufacturer is already testing the implementation of the USB-C port known from Android smartphones.
iPhone owners could face a big change. Like the mostly well-informed analyst Ming-Chi Kuo on Twitter a few days ago wroteApple will probably do without the Lightning connectors that have been integrated into all iPhones for over a decade as early as next year.
Instead, USB-C connections should also be accommodated in the Apple smartphones. These have been standard on all Android smartphones from Samsung, Huawei and Co. for some time. In a tweet, Kuo refers to an unspecified survey, presumably among component manufacturers. The analyst’s forecasts very often refer to insider information from producer circles.
