September is Apple month in the tech landscape. For years now, the group’s most important product has been released in the fall. The new iPhone won’t be long in coming in 2023 either – and will come in two versions. Apple has introduced the iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15.
This time there are also the Apple Watch Series 9 and the Apple Watch Ultra 2. As predicted in the rumors, the innovations are more about careful product care, as the big anniversary is coming up next year and Apple is likely to have a new design or surprising functions will be reserved for this.
No more leather for the iPhone and Apple Watch
This time Apple has placed a big focus on the environment. This is not only noticeable behind the scenes, but also in the store: From now on, Apple will no longer offer any product other than leather. Apple Watch straps and iPhone cases are now made of so-called fine fabric, which is supposed to feel like suede but is actually a fabric. Apple dedicated a considerable part of the presentation to the topic of the environment.
Not mentioned on stage, but presented immediately after the keynote, were the second generation Airpods Pro with a USB-C port. The iPhone has also said goodbye to the old Lightning port and Apple is now apparently aiming for rapid uniformity.
Prices and availability
The price this year is as follows: The AirPods Pro with MagSafe charging case (USB-C) will be available from Friday, September 22nd, for 279 euros. The Apple Watch Ultra 2 costs 899 euros and can be pre-ordered starting today. Delivery date is also September 22nd.
The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will be available in black, white, blue and natural colors. The 15 Pro starts at 1199 euros, the large Max model at 1449 euros. Both models will be available from Friday September 22nd, with pre-orders starting September 15th.
The same applies to the iPhone 15. The two models will be available in pink, yellow, green, blue and black with storage capacities of 128 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB, starting at 949 euros.
The Apple Watch Series 9 is available from 449 euros and the Apple Watch SE from 279 euros.
