iOS/iPadOS 16.1, watchOS 9.1 and macOS Ventura are here

The final versions of Apple’s latest operating systems are now available as updates. Alongside iOS 16.1 and iPadOS 16.1, tvOS 16.1 was also released. WatchOS 9.1 and macOS Ventura are also available for Apple watches and Macs.

After new operating system functions arrived on iPhones, Apple Watches and Apple TVs a few weeks ago, the US company has now also released innovations for iPads and Macs. In addition to those of iOS 16 known features brings iPadOS 16.1 about the stage manager with you to keep more windows on the screen at once than before. Proper support for external screens is only available on iPads with an M1 chip. The new operating system also offers a native weather app for Apple’s tablets. With the exception of the iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 4, version 16.1 is supported by all models that have already received iPadOS 15.

Stage Manager is also part of macOS Ventura. Furthermore, the function camera handover now wirelessly use the iPhone camera for video conferences on the Mac. The Spotlight search has been improved as it can now also scan photos for the search term. There are also improvements for the Mail app, including a function for scheduling emails.

In addition to bug fixes, the new features of iOS 16.1 include the iCloud shared photo library – The photo collection can be shared with up to six people. Incidentally, Apple Fitness+ can now also be used on the iPhone without an Apple Watch. Recently, you can share digital keys from the Apple Wallet via messaging apps other than iMessage. For the Dynamic Island of the iPhone 14 models and the lock screen of other models, iOS 16.1 also brings the Support for live activities. Among other things, a food delivery or the interim result of a sporting event can be tracked in real time via the lock screen or the Dynamic Island.

The watchOS version 9.1 is available from the Apple Watch 4, but only that this year’s models get a function through the update Extend battery life during hikes, walks and running workouts. In this case, the heart rate and GPS measurements will be performed less frequently during the mentioned workouts. With tvOS 16.1, it’s now easier to add profiles for each member of a Family Sharing group. In combination with AirPods, personalized 3D audio can now also be selected. Additionally, Siri has been overhauled on Apple TV devices.
