iOS 16: No new design, but better notifications

At the upcoming WWDC 2022, Apple will also present iOS 16, among other things. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who wrote in his new PowerOn newsletter writes that iOS 16 should get “significant” improvements in notifications and new health tracking functions, but no fundamental redesign of iOS.

For iOS 16, I’m expecting some pretty significant improvements, including an update to notifications and new health tracking features. I’m not expecting a complete redesign of the iOS UI, even though it hasn’t changed much since iOS 7 almost a decade ago. But there could be a new iPadOS multitasking interface.

Meanwhile, Gurman leaves it open how exactly the changes will look like. At the same time, with watchOS 9 there will be major updates for activity and health monitoring, so far Gurman has not made any statements about the other systems.

Apple will announce iOS 16‌, iPadOS 16, macOS 13, watchOS 9 and tvOS 16 on June 6th. Furthermore, should also two new Macs to be shown at WWDC 2022.
