An investor has filed a lawsuit against Tesla, accusing the US automaker around Elon Musk of abuse and discrimination against employees. Accordingly, the company is said to have not responded to complaints and created a “toxic workplace culture”.

There are again serious allegations against Tesla: An investor filed a lawsuit against the US automaker, CEO Elon Musk and eleven CEOs of the company on Thursday, according to the Reuters news service. Solomon Chau accuses them of having “created a toxic workplace culture based on racist and sexist abuse and discrimination against their own employees”.

“This toxic work environment has developed internally for years, and it is only recently that the truth about Tesla’s culture has come to light,” said the Tesla investor. He further complains: “Tesla’s toxic workplace culture has caused the company financial damage and irreparably damaged its reputation.” The US automaker lost highly qualified employees and had to accept costs for defending cases and paying fines for violations.

Tesla himself initially declined to comment on Reuters. However, the company had previously stated that it would not tolerate discrimination and had taken steps to address employee complaints.

Lawsuits against Tesla for discrimination are piling up

Solomon Chau’s lawsuit is not the first against Tesla. There are already several lawsuits against the automaker, particularly for sexual harassment. In February, the US state of California filed a lawsuit against Tesla for alleged discrimination against black employees.

A racist work environment prevails at Tesla’s Fremont car factory, according to the Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) regulator’s complaint. Blacks would be harassed, harassed and hostile there. The agency has received hundreds of complaints from workers. A black employee is said to have been racially insulted 50 to 100 times a day.
