Investment: Buying stocks is becoming more expensive – economy

Germany has become a stock market in recent years. Young people in particular are now investing much more in the stock market than previous generations did. You buy individual stocks and ETFs, i.e. funds that allow you to invest in a wide range of stocks, often via a monthly savings plan. The change was initiated by so-called neo-brokers who enable cheap stock exchange trading. With providers such as Trade Republic, Justtrade or Smartbroker, a share order costs nothing or only one euro. In this way they have found millions of customers in Germany. It’s the biggest upheaval in stock buying in decades.
