The Passau Criminal Investigation Department has started an investigation into a graffiti lettering in the city that encourages the public to commit crimes against a politician. This emerges from a statement from the Lower Bavaria police headquarters on Monday. In the first weeks of March, unknown persons daubed a public graffiti wall in a district of Passau with criminally relevant writing.
The affected politician is the regional AfD member of the state parliament Ralf Stadler, as he himself made public on social networks. The inscription, as can be seen in the video, read: “Ralf Stadler must die so that we can live.” In it, Stadler spoke of a “public call for murder” and a “mess” where people “slowly no longer dare to go out on the streets.” According to the information, the graffiti could be seen on a wall approved by the city of Passau for sprayers.
According to a statement from the police headquarters, the lettering was removed after the complaint was filed. As the Passauer Neue Presse Meanwhile, reports that Stadler has offered a reward of 5,000 euros for crucial information that would lead to the capture of the perpetrator.
