Investigation opened after the death of a teenager at the Crozon swimming pool

The circumstances of the tragedy are not yet established. On Saturday, a teenager died while taking part in a swimming lesson at the Nautil’ys swimming pool in Morgat, on the Crozon peninsula (Finistère).

According to information from West France, the 14-year-old boy was enrolled in third grade at Sainte-Jeanne-d’Arc College in Crozon. It is not yet known under what circumstances the tragedy unfolded. An autopsy must be performed to find out the reasons for the death of the teenager. An investigation is underway.

A psychological unit set up

The accident occurred late Saturday afternoon, although it is not known whether it took place during or after swimming lessons. On its site, the swimming pool evokes “a drama during which a young boy from Crozon lost his life”. The aquatic center has been closed since the accident and will remain so until further notice.

A psychological support unit was set up on Sunday by the community of municipalities on its premises. The teenagers present, the families concerned and the staff of the swimming pool can go there.
