Investigation opened after the broadcast of images of an arrest

The Perpignan public prosecutor’s office reportedly announced the opening of an investigation after the broadcast of video images by the Mediapart site. In these images, a man’s head appears to hit a wall after he was pushed by a police officer during an arrest. It would be a municipal police officer from the Pyrénées-Orientales prefecture.

“As soon as I became aware of the video, I initiated an investigation which is currently being processed, including the collection of the complaint from the young person who had refused to do so following his arrest” , precise, to Mediapartthe public prosecutor of Perpignan, Jean-David Cavaillé.
