Investigation opened after an attempted fire in the sub-prefecture

It was a resident who gave the alert on Saturday evening a little before 10 p.m. when he saw a ball of fire in front of the entrance to the sub-prefecture of Brest. Immediately dispatches on the spot, the police discovered a homemade incendiary device which was “in the process of burning in a hedge located to the right of the entrance gate”, said this Sunday in a press release Camille Miansoni, public prosecutor of Brest.

Facing the gate of the sub-prefecture of Finistère, the police also found “plastic packaging, two aerosol cans, a can of soda and fifty pop rivets” which were scattered on the ground.

Investigation entrusted to the judicial police

While the surveillance device was lifted, the firefighters intervened again in front of the administrative building this Sunday morning at 9:40 a.m. Arrived on the scene, the police this time discovered “a homemade incendiary device with a glass bottle in the process of being consumed” in front of the entrance to the foreigners service. “These facts did not cause any material damage or physical injury,” said the Brest prosecutor’s office, adding that an investigation, entrusted to the judicial police, had been opened.

On Friday morning, the building of the French Office for Biodiversity in Brest had already been partly destroyed by fire. He had been the target the day before of numerous rocket attacks and hazard fires by angry fishermen.
