Interview with Charlotte Link: “I don’t read any reviews at all anymore”

With a circulation of more than 30 million, Charlotte Link is one of the most successful German writers. In the star-Birthday interview she reveals why she sometimes jumps out of bed at night, how she deals with writer’s block and what idea for a bestseller she gave a reader.

Ms. Link, do you remember a particularly memorable birthday?
For decades, I celebrated my birthday during the book fair. Nowadays it’s usually later, but I couldn’t celebrate properly for a long time. The publisher came with champagne and a song was sung at the trade fair stand, but there was no big party. I’m not the birthday party type either.

But this year it’s the 60th.
A move is coming soon. I’m also still in the middle of book submission stress. So I have a very good excuse when the question of the big festival comes up.
