He has been with Deutsche Post DHL for 21 years, and has been CEO for almost 14 years: Frank Appel, 60, has turned the former state monopoly into a globally successful logistics group. But at the end of his term of office, he caused a surprise: His contract would actually have expired in October 2022, but he wants to continue until May 2023.
