Interview on German politics of remembrance with historian Frank Trentmann – Culture

Frank Trentmann, born in Hamburg in 1965, went to Great Britain to study as a young man and then went on to the USA. He teaches history at Birkbeck, University of London and at the University of Helsinki. Last autumn, his book “Awakening of Conscience. A History of the Germans from 1942 to Today” was published by S. Fischer Verlag. He is currently a visiting professor at the University of Chicago. He is speaking to the SZ from there via Zoom.
