In the future, the Queen will no longer appear alone on many postage stamps in Great Britain. In addition, there should be a QR code that the British Post wants to offer for new services.

Internet videos will soon be able to be sent in the post in the UK. Royal Mail will be adding QR codes to its stamps to share videos, messages and other information.

The postal service announced on Tuesday that this was preceded by successful tests. “The introduction of unique barcodes on our stamps allows us to connect the physical letter with the digital world and opens up opportunities for a range of new innovative services in the future,” said Royal Mail manager Nick Landon.

First, senders and recipients can watch an exclusive video of the popular Shaun the Sheep animated series by scanning the code with the Royal Mail app. More videos are to be added over the course of the year, which customers can then choose to accompany their letter. Personal greetings should also be possible. The code is in the same color as the stamp and separated from it by a mock perforated line.
