The Federal Ministry of the Interior under Nancy Faeser (SPD) proposes deporting members of criminal clans even if they have not committed any crimes. A corresponding regulation can be found in the “Draft for discussion on improving repatriation”, which Faeser’s ministry published last Thursday. “Regardless of a criminal conviction,” it says, “members of organized crime communities” should lose their right of residence. The aim of the proposed change is “to be able to deport members of so-called clan structures more easily in the future,” confirmed a spokeswoman for the ministry when asked Süddeutsche Zeitung.
