A good week after the department store chain Galeria Karstadt Kaufhof filed for bankruptcy, there are several interested buyers. The provisional insolvency administrator Stefan Denkhaus said on Wednesday: “There are more than two interested parties. The creditors’ committee is discussing the structured investor process, then we will quickly begin negotiations.” This means: The sales process has not yet begun and will take place in close communication with the creditors. These include suppliers of clothing or cosmetics, but also the federal government through the Economic Stabilization Fund (WSF).
