Inside 1860 – the lions, the arena and the money – sport

The football club 1860 Munich has been sliding from one crisis to the next for decades. But who is responsible for it? An audio series about windy managers, mysterious investors and many wrong decisions.

In the first episode of this audio documentation, the search for clues to the reasons for the crash begins – on the summit: Werner Lorant, successful trainer at the turn of the millennium, now lives on a campsite in Waging am See. There he explains why the Lions were successful with him – and what fatal mistakes they made after his time.

This episode originally appeared on August 4th, 2021. Because we are currently taking a short winter break from “And now for sport”, we are broadcasting it again. The entire series was created in collaboration with the audio platform FYEO. Now listen to the first episode and all subsequent episodes with SZ Plus sz.de/1860-podcast.
