This technology looks like something out of a science fiction movie:
The Israeli invention is said to be able to see through walls.
The Xaver 1000 was presented at the Eurosatory (Irosatory) armaments fair in Paris this year.
In the future, the technology will be used by the military, the police and in disaster relief.
But what exactly can the device do?
According to the manufacturer Camero-Tech, the Xaver 1000 can determine the number of people in a room and their distance from the device.
In addition, the invention records the position of all objects in space – as well as the general structure.
Objects and people should be recognized behind walls in real time.
It doesn’t matter what material the wall is made of – the device can penetrate everything from plasterboard to reinforced concrete.
According to the manufacturer, Xaver uses 1000 radio waves to “see” through walls.
The resolution should be so high that one can see whether someone is sitting, standing or lying down – even if the person does not move for a long period of time.
To do this, the Xaver 1000 uses a tracking algorithm based on artificial intelligence.
One person alone can operate the Xaver 1000 after a short introduction – quite simply via a ten-inch touchscreen.
However, as with many military technologies, little is known about how it works.
Camero is a world leader in the development and production of so-called UWB radio imaging systems, mainly for “Sense Through The Wall” (STTW) and “Body Scanning” applications.
In the future, the system will be used by military and law enforcement agencies as well as search and rescue teams to save lives in crisis situations.
