Innkeeper loses his wedding ring and offers the finder free beer for life

An innkeeper from Bavaria lost his wedding ring while bathing. He offered a potential finder free beer for life – with success.
Gregor Bodensteiner looks sadly into the camera. “Disaster,” he says sadly. In the video that the Upper Palatinate published on his Facebook profile, he also explains the reason for his depressed mood: he lost his wedding ring.
He lost the piece while bathing with his children in Lake Murner. But Bodensteiner hopes that it will show up again: “Maybe someone will find something.” Bodensteiner gives a detailed description of the ring that has connected him with his wife Sybille since their wedding in 2010.
And he offers the potential finder a tempting reward: free beer for life. He is the operator of the Bodensteiner inn in the Bavarian community of Stulln (Schwandorf district).
Wedding ring has since reappeared
This provided additional motivation for numerous people in the region. A report from a local radio station also drew the attention of thousands of listeners to the lost wedding ring. Some tried their luck with metal detectors, even dive specialists tried to help. In fact, the finder’s reward has served its purpose: the ring has now been found – and the free beer promise has of course been fulfilled.

For Bodensteiner, “a lot of heart was attached to the ring” for two reasons, as he says: First, because of the memories with his Woman, secondly because a friend had made the piece of jewelry. “It’s not something bought,” he explained to Sat.1. Incidentally, his wife did not find the whole affair quite so tragic: “It would have been worse if he had forgotten one of the children at the lake.”
