Big worries at Borussia Dortmund! Gregor Kobel had to be substituted injured in the 25th minute of the Bundesliga away game at Eintracht Frankfurt, which ended 3-3.
The Swiss had already been treated after he collided with Nico Schlotterbeck in the 18th minute and was hit in the face with his elbow. Kobel immediately indicated to the bench that he had problems with his facial area.
After a short break in treatment, Kobel tried again, but shortly after conceding a goal to make it 0-2, the 25-year-old couldn’t continue. Substitute goalkeeper Alexander Meyer came on for him.
Kobel and Dortmund experienced an initial phase to forget in Frankfurt. After two goals from Omar Marmoush, they were already 0-2 behind after 24 minutes before the team showed morale and fought for a draw.
How bad Kobel’s injury is is currently still unclear. Next Saturday, Dortmund will face FC Bayern in the top game (from 6:30 p.m. in the live ticker). A failure of their support in the goal would be the absolute worst case for BVB.
