Unusually optimistic for a banker: the head of the ING Group, Steven van Rijswijk, believes that inflation will soon fall again and warns the ECB not to raise interest rates too quickly.

The ING Group from Amsterdam is one of the largest banks in Europe. The financial institution has 38 million customers in around 40 countries worldwide. Germany is one of the most important markets for the Dutch, and CEO Steven van Rijswijk, 52, wants to continue growing here. He was born in Utrecht, studied economics in Rotterdam and has been with ING since 1995. He has headed the financial group since July 2020.
