Inflation remains stubborn and workers around the world are demanding salary increases – but does this mean that there really is a risk of a global wage-price spiral that central banks are always warning about?

More than 340,000 Americans received a pay rise in early March. Walmart, the largest private employer in the US, raised the minimum wage to $14 an hour, setting a new wage floor in many US states.
