Infineon boss Ploss is to become chief supervisor at Knorr-Bremse

The outgoing Infineon CEO Reinhard Ploss is to lead the supervisory board of the Munich brake group Knorr-Bremse from May. Ploss, who will hand over the management of Infineon at the end of March as planned, is to be elected to the board at the annual general meeting on May 24, as Knorr-Bremse announced on Friday evening. Ploss is to replace Klaus Mangold as chairman of the supervisory board, who had extended his term of office again after the death of majority shareholder Heinz Hermann Thiele last year. The former Daimler manager Mangold was considered a close confidant of Thiele, but at the age of 78 he was well past the age limit. Mangold has been Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Knorr- Bremse since its IPO in 2018. “Especially in the phase after the completely unexpected death of Heinz Hermann Thiele, as Chairman of the Supervisory Board, he took on great responsibility for the company,” said his deputy, Deutsche Börse boss Theodor Weimer. The manager magazine was the first to report on the forthcoming change. Another position will become vacant on the Knorr- Bremse Supervisory Board in May: Former Airbus boss Tom Enders will “also be retiring from the board due to other important commitments, the company said. Enders is the head of the supervisory board at the air taxi startup Lilium.
