Industry association – Russwurm remains head of the BDI – Economy

Siegfried Russwurm remains President of the Federation of German Industries for a further two years. The 59-year-old was re-elected without a dissenting vote, as the BDI announced on Monday. Russwurm will begin his second term on January 1st. The former Siemens board member has been Industry President since the beginning of 2021. Among other things, he was one of the chairmen of the commission of experts set up by the Federal Government for the gas and electricity price brake. Russwurm called on the federal government to adopt a forward-looking industrial and innovation policy agenda. “Politicians think more about controlling the economy, directing it and overloading it with obligations, instead of supporting it in a targeted manner.”
