Florence Welch follows the doctor’s advice and rests her foot. Her band’s concerts have to be postponed.

British indie rock band Florence + The Machine has postponed several concerts in the UK after singer Florence Welch broke her foot. “I’m sorry but after the X-ray it looks like I danced with a broken foot yesterday,” Welch wrote on Twitter Saturday afternoon.

“It’s not like me to postpone a show, let alone a UK tour, but I’m in pain. And as dancers know, it’s not a good idea to dance with an injury. I’ve been told I can’t should occur more to avoid further damage.”

The band released their fifth studio album Dance Fever in May and kicked off their tour on Monday with a concert in Paris. Appearances in Cardiff and London followed. Eight more concerts in Great Britain are now to be made up for in the coming year, it said. “I can’t wait to be back on my feet and back in your arms,” Welch wrote.
