Three of the members are brothers, so their family name became the name of their band: Madsen. Now the musicians from Wendland are bringing new music onto the market.

The album is called “Hollywood”, but the Hamburger Sternbrücke can be seen on the cover: their ninth studio album is the first that the indie band Madsen is releasing on their self-founded label “Goodbye Logic Records”.

Several songs from it have already been released, such as “Bridges”. More than 75 supporters can be seen in the music video for “Bridges”, including prominent musicians, but also the Clenze volunteer fire brigade, as the band announced.

The musicians grew up in the small town of Clenze in the district of Lüchow-Dannenberg in Wendland, Lower Saxony. The band is named after the brothers Sebastian, Sascha and Johannes Madsen. The fourth member is Niko Maurer. The first Madsen album came out in 2004, and many fans have remained loyal to the Lower Saxony since then.

Open air concerts in four cities

The musicians want to test the songs from “Hollywood” for their live suitability at four open-air concerts. Dates have been announced in Leipzig (08/29), Berlin (08/30), Cologne (09/01) and Hamburg (09/02).

The song “Bridges” is about the longing to connect people, said singer and songwriter Sebastian Madsen. “With all the challenges these days, it’s important that we move closer together and don’t exclude one another.” said the 41-year-old.
