Viruses, one injury and one death: Disasters on the set of Indiana Jones 5

The shooting of “Indiana Jones 5” was not under a good star. There have been various setbacks since filming began in June 2021. Harrison Ford was injured while rehearsing a fight scene. The almost 80-year-old actor had to sit out for three months. In the meantime, not only Corona, but also an outbreak of the Noro virus paralyzed parts of the shooting.

A member of the camera crew was found dead in his hotel room during filming in Morocco. According to the production company, his death had nothing to do with the shoot. Just last week, a crew member suffered a heart attack on the set. Harrison Ford supposed according to a source in The Sun were the first to call for an ambulance.

“Indiana Jones 5”: Odyssey before the start of shooting

Even before filming began, Indiana Jones 5 had come a long way. There were already plans for another film after the fourth part of 2008. “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” was not well received by many fans, but producer George Lucas (77) wanted another film.

The project only gained momentum in 2016. But several revisions of the script dragged on until 2019. Steven Spielberg (75), the director of the first four Indy films, handed over responsibility to James Mangold (58) in 2022. The rental company postponed planned start dates several times due to the corona pandemic.
