Incredible jump: With the wingsuit into an active volcano (video)

See in the video: With the wingsuit in an active volcano – and out again.

Sebastian Alvarez is one of the best wingsuit pilots in the world. Now he has set a new record: He is the first person who has ever flown in and out of an active volcano – with success. Alvarez is a retired military pilot. For a year he prepared for the flight to one of the most dangerous volcanoes in his home country, Chile. The Villarica volcano has a huge crater with a diameter of more than 200 m – and it is embedded in the impressive landscape of its home country. Two arguments that convinced Álvarez to perform his daring stunt in precisely this volcano. To prepare for the complicated jump, Álvarez traveled across Europe and South America and completed around 500 jumps. But the Villarica volcano is one of the most dangerous in Chile. Since it breaks out frequently, timing was crucial. Dani Roman, the cameraman who filmed Alvarez in action, said: “For someone who is clueless about wingsuits, what Seba did is basically flew his own body into an active crater and flown his way out, just with his body, without a motor, just with a small piece of cloth.
