The police were called Tuesday morning near a high school located along the A8 motorway, in Antibes (Alpes-Maritimes). A truck driver in transit in the department, bordering Italy, explained that he had just discovered migrants in his trailer. Five adults and a minor, from Côte d’Ivoire and “put” in the vehicle in question, in the middle of the night, according to their statements, were found by the police, we learned from the Direction Department of Public Security (DDSP) 06.
When heard, the six people explained that they had all left their country of origin in 2019 and that they had gone through several since their departure. The minor was taken into care in a home as an isolated minor. The adults have expressed their wish to seek asylum in France. They were placed in administrative detention “waiting for elements of the prefecture”, specified the DDSP 06.
