Nerve doesn’t always pay off. The proof with these two 18-year-old women intercepted this Monday, around 2:30 p.m., by the security agents of the Carrefour de Purpan, In Toulouse. While pushing a well-stocked cart, the “clients” were about to leave the premises after going through a closed checkout. They had simply unbuckled the safety strap supposed to block the way.
The police officers called in as reinforcements had only to make an inventory of this gigantic shoplifting. The cart contained 2,140 euros of merchandise in all, mainly clothing and cosmetics, and only around 10 euros of food. The two thieves, who admitted the facts, presented themselves as homeless. They were placed in police custody before being referred to the prosecution on Tuesday morning.
