In the water country – the most beautiful vacation spots on the German rivers and lakes

Cycling along the Oder, paddling on the Lahn or diving into a natural outdoor pool on the Great Eutin Lake: These are the favorite places of the star-Editorial between the Elbe and Lake Constance.

1 • Bathe like great-grandmother

Most of all, you would like to step into the water in a bathing suit from yesteryear and a bathing cap, appropriately dressed for this historic bathing establishment on the Great Eutin Lake. It was built in 1913 as a horseshoe-shaped jetty; since 1985 it has been under monument protection. The only thing that is no longer there are the wooden, four-meter-high diving towers that can be seen in old black-and-white photos. Admission to this special natural outdoor pool is also the same as it was back then: free.
