In the office, the women’s suit is making its revolution

The feminine suit is making its revolution! Hailey Bieber, Kendall Jenner, Eva Longoria, Caro Daur, and Chiara Ferragni have all contributed to subverting it, reshaping it to give it pep, without departing from the feeling of power that it can give to the female silhouette. Sometimes for men, sometimes with shorts, a microskirt, or a Y2K version of a suit, the suit is gaining a new reputation, less strict and more inclusive.

From well-tailored jacket to crop top blazer

No more pants, fitted jackets, or pencil skirts, the feminine suit as we knew it is no more! The proof with Kim Kardashian who, on the cover of Fortune Magazineadopts a sober suit, fitted with loose pants and worn directly against the skin for a look that is at once powerful, chic and sexy.

During the latest fashion shows, most influencers, including many street styles spotted in New York, London, Milan, Paris, and Copenhagen, also opted for oversized suits (as seen at Fendi for the fall-winter 2023 season), or taking the form of a blazer worn with shorts or Bermuda shorts, and even a crop top blazer with loose pants. A trend that should stand the test of time given the fashion shows orchestrated in Paris as part of Spring-Summer 2024 Fashion Week: Issey Miyake, Dries Van Noten, and even The Row did not hesitate to offer ultra-cuts -casual.

When the new office look also appeals to Internet users

Who says business look, or officewear, also says tie. But here again, there is no question of succumbing to the call of an overly formal look. Something that Valentino has largely anticipated during the fall-winter 2023 shows, transforming the thin black tie if possible into an essential accessory to wear with absolutely everything except… a formal suit. It was enough for the general public to take ownership of it. According to the latest data from global fashion search engine Stylight, search interest in tie increased by 86% between June and September 2023, compared to the same period last year, and the fall season n it’s only just beginning

To complete this range of revisited officewear, women are banking on trench coats but in a short version, with a 52% increase in demand on Stylight compared to last year, and 339% on Google. The only strict touch of this new business look, rectangular glasses straight from the 2000s seem to be reborn from their ashes, with a 24% increase in searches on Google in one year. It’s official, the return to the office looks cooler than ever.

For this report, Stylight analyzed the search behavior of its 120 million users on an annual basis between June 26 and September 26, 2023 compared to the same period in 2022. For Google search figures, was compared the number of searches over the past year (September 26, 2022 – September 26, 2023).
