The Occitania region will make you prefer the train. Especially in this period when finding a liter of fuel is a feat. Faced with the shortage, the socialist president of the community, Carole Delga, has just announced that all train tickets for the liO regional network will be at one euro for the coming weekend. “This exceptional measure aims to allow the inhabitants of Occitania to save fuel during the weekend in order to ensure their commuting to work next week”, indicates the regional council in a press release.
“Given the evolution of the situation, which should last several more days, we must act concretely. State, local authorities, companies, we have to pack together and offer quick solutions, each at our level,” explains Carole Delga. For two days, all liO trains will therefore be offered at the price of one euro. The sale will begin this Thursday evening at midnight. A measure that could be renewed if necessary.
This rate is not a first for the community which sets up from June to September, one-euro tickets every weekend, without age limit, in order to promote tourist travel within the region. .
