In Nice, the capacity of public transport will be reinforced

Lines continue to grow in front of service stations. So the metropolis of Nice has decided to organize itself if certain motorists, out of fuel, come to refer to public transport? At peak times, from Wednesday morning, the Lignes d’Azur management company will increase “rotations and seat capacities by around 10% more” on line 2 of the tramway and on the “structuring” bus lines ( 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9), the community announced on Tuesday.

An initiative launched “to provide assets with additional solutions […] faced with the situation and the behavior of those who add crisis to crisis”, points out Christian Estrosi, in reference to the refiners’ strike launched on September 21.

Use park and ride facilities at city entrances

According to the mayor of Nice and president of the metropolis, the fuel reserves of the management are “sufficient” to thus reinforce the service between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Two additional trains will also be put into service on lines 2 and 3 of the tramway. Line 1 is already operating at its maximum rate, according to the management.

Scheduled until Friday, this initiative could be “reassessed according to the evolution of the crisis”, specifies the community again. “I therefore invite everyone to benefit from it and to use our park and ride facilities, located at all entrances to Nice and Cagnes-sur-Mer”, further supports Christian Estrosi.
