That morning, at the end of September, employees of the City of Paris cut the bunches of grapes from the 1,726 vines of La Butte. Like every year, we harvest on the slopes of Montmartre and the bunches are immediately offered to the Social and Cultural Action Committee of the 18th century which will make wine (around 2,400 bottles) for the benefit of the poorest and people in need. difficulty. “And we are preparing for this great moment which is the Harvest festival », adds Eric Lejoindre. Nearly 460,000 visitors expected in the streets of La Butte

It is being held this week, from October 11 to 15 in the eight districts of the 18th arrondissement. In 2023, OJ2024 obliges, the programming has been “designed around sport and the values ​​of Olympism”, assures the website of the event called “The 18th gets into the games”. The Harvest Festival thus borrowed the motto “faster, higher, stronger – together”, while once again nearly 460,000 visitors are expected in the streets of La Butte.

During these five days, more than 40 actors from the district (associative, cultural, social, merchants, artisans, etc.) will offer activities (street exhibitions, tastings, concerts, shows, guided tours, open days, workshops, etc.) mixing art and sport.

As for the grapes, as with every harvest since 1934, they will not leave the 18th since the wine is made directly in the basement of the town hall. Unique harvests in France.
