While other Berlin theaters start their season with booming arts and crafts in XXL format, the cool Schaubühne does exactly the opposite: its premiere at the start of the season is an extremely dense, clever 70-minute evening on the small studio stage. The author and director Yana Thönnes uses the 1980s horror film “The Entity” and the real events on which it is based for a depressing psychological study. Paranoia and reality, cinematic horror and childhood horror, sexual abuse and the rape scenarios that compulsively recur in the injured soul all horribly collapse into one another.
