In Japan, death by “work overdose”, the doc in 2 minutes from Saturday

In Japan, workers die from karoshi, “overdose of work”. While the impact of stress at work on many diseases is increasingly recognized, taking care of yourself has become a public health issue. Between the four-day week, shorter days, the clear separation of professional and personal life or, on the contrary, the mixture of the two, many solutions are proposed for a healthier relationship to working time.

In this latest opus of the Work in progress series, our relationship to working time is questioned. In a world of work plagued by professional exhaustion and burnout, but also by an ecological crisis of an unprecedented scale in the history of humanity, how can we rethink work so that it is both sustainable for workers and for the planet? Is working time reduction the solution?
