It’s been exactly ten years since Edward Snowden exposed the US secret services: In June 2013, the media began reporting on more than a million secret documents that the NSA’s IT staff had downloaded. That’s why he’s still wanted as a suspected criminal in his home country. He took refuge in Moscow; but even western countries allied with the USA refuse to arrest and extradite him. They don’t see Snowden as a criminal spy, but as a whistleblower who exposed illegal American surveillance operations. Now the American security services are wondering if they are in for another Snowden moment: a classified information leak that has the potential to disrupt the US intelligence apparatus.
