In Cagnes-sur-Mer, the vegetation fire on the Domaine du Loup is about to be drowned, according to the mayor

The flames that could be seen from the A8 motorway on Tuesday afternoon were impressive. It is in particular pines which burned at the bottom of the domain of the wolf, in Cagnes-sur-Mer (Alpes-Maritimes), in a highly urbanized area. The fire started around 3 p.m., just next to the former RN7, and very quickly spread to the vegetation between the tall buildings of this “district” and the traffic lanes near the racecourse and the exit of the A8 Villeneuve-Loubet. A strong wind, which rose at the end of the morning, fanned the hearth. The fire was about to be drowned at the start of the evening, the mayor of the town, Louis Nègre, told France Bleu Azur.

Nearly 120 firefighters and 45 vehicles were mobilized, aided by a water bomber helicopter. The swimming pool at the Résidence du Loup also served as a water reservoir. The few residents of the residence were evacuated.

Traffic on the A8 very disrupted

Traffic on the A8 is very disrupted at the end of the day. Lots of slowdowns and heavy smoke make the dangerous traffic in this area.

THE rail traffic is interrupted between Nice and Antibesthe railway line being wedged between the former RN7 and the A8 motorway.
