“Five o’clock in the morning on the port, one last shot/It’s for my city, handsome kid sauce.” After several weeks of investigation, dozens of witnesses questioned and numerous false leads, we have solved the mystery of the seasoning made famous by rapper Oreslan in his title. Cleanreleased in 2021 on the album Civilization. To send the sauce, go to Magic Beau Gosse, a restaurant established since 2005 near the port of Caen.
As Ali Reza Pourmand-Safa, co-manager of the family establishment, explains, the magic beau gosse sauce is the combination of two homemade preparations: a white sauce and a samurai sauce – sprinkled with sumac powder – an oriental spice. Since Orelsan’s citation, the restaurant’s popularity has skyrocketed. And the shot ain’t about to die down since the clip of Clean, partly filmed at the beginning of April during the carnival of Caenjust released.
