A 14-year-old is said to have shot a man in the head in Lohr am Main, Lower Franconia, in September 2023. The Würzburg public prosecutor’s office has charged the suspect with murder; the trial could follow in 2024. The German has remained silent about the allegations since his arrest. The public prosecutor’s office cites murder as the motive. “He only committed the crime to kill someone,” said a spokesman for the authority. The murder weapon, a nine-millimeter pistol, legally belonged to one of the teenager’s neighbors. According to the police, he had all permits. He also stored his weapons properly. It is still unclear how the student got the pistol because the gun owner could not be questioned because he was hospitalized and died a few weeks after the crime. The 66-year-old is said to have known the boy. If there were to be a trial against the young person, the youth chamber of the Würzburg regional court would be entrusted with the matter.

In March 2023, a man is said to have killed his wife in Marktheidenfeld, Lower Franconia. In November, the Würzburg public prosecutor’s office charged the 36-year-old with murder. The investigators assume that he killed the 33-year-old for base reasons because, in his opinion, his wife had brought shame on the family. The woman wanted to separate from her husband, but he could not accept it. During an argument in their shared apartment, the man is said to have stabbed the woman at least eight times. She later died in hospital. The man also inflicted several stab wounds on himself with the intention of committing suicide. The Afghan was arrested after the incident and has been in custody ever since. The couple has four children. They came into the care of the youth welfare office. The Würzburg regional court has not yet set any trial dates.
