They ended up in the trash. On Sunday, thousands of doses of vaccine from the Angers Town Hall vaccination center were lost. These hundreds of Pfizer vials, which would have allowed to administer 5,796 doses for adults and 1,280 for children, were in a refrigerator that was found unplugged in the morning by healthcare workers, indicates the West Mail. “The 8,136 vials of Moderna vaccine, which withstand these temperatures, were however able to be saved”, specifies the daily.
While the city and the Regional Health Agency immediately filed a complaint, fearing a willful act, this incident could in fact have been caused by a cleaning lady who unplugged the device by mistake, says West France. Apart from some delays, no consequences on the organization of vaccination were reported.
