in Angers, a stabbed policeman saved by his bulletproof vest

The drama was narrowly avoided Tuesday morning, east of downtown Angers. A young man carrying a knife indeed stabbed a national police officer called for an intervention within the commercial gallery Anjou area. Luckily, the official was not injured. The blade hit his bulletproof vest, without damage, reports The Western Mail.

The 22-year-old attacker was arrested shortly after. He was taken into custody. This individual would have first tried to attack the guards of the shopping center who claimed control of a bag. A police patrol then came to help. The stabbing occurred as the suspect attempted to flee.

An investigation has been opened. The young man could be prosecuted for attempted murder of a person holding public authority.
