Luckily, several witnesses, including police officers, attended the scene. At least three people jumped into the water to rescue them, reports The Western Mail. The two children were extracted fairly quickly and are out of danger. In shock, they were taken to hospital. The driver was transported in serious condition to the University Hospital of Angers. His vital prognosis was engaged.

An investigation has been opened to try to understand what could have happened.
